Currently under construction at Sunshine Beach, this house is designed for a repeat Bark client who originally commissioned Bark to design their first project at Sunshine Beach which was completed in December 2005. (See Sunshine House 1)
With a target completion date of mid June 2012, the house has been designed so that views to the ocean are maintained and able to be ‘rediscovered’ from different aspects throughout the house.
Specific areas for eating, relaxing or entertaining have been identified within the living and sleeping zones, enabling a clear spatial organisation to emerge around the central Northern Courtyard - leisure zone.
Entry space blurs distinction between inside and outside with strong connection to courtyard, pool and outdoor living area between zones.
Heavy mass wall offers central thermal mass, rest and entertainment with nooks, fireplace and BBQ built into wall over two levels
Form of substance and simplicity with dynamically adjustable sun/privacy screens to enliven street facade
